TERMITE PROOFING WORK PROCEDURE - CHEMICALS, TREATMENT, BUILDING

Termite proofing work procedure is a chemical to destroy bacteria in the soil of the land. 'Destroy termites before they destroy your house'.

There are places that are not termite-proof. Termites cause walls, wood, and concrete to become porous by eating them. Hence, termite proofing work procedure has to be done every ten years.

PRE-CONSTRUCTION SOIL TREATMENT FOR TERMITE (Below ground)

  1. The chemicals used for soil treatment & termite proofing work procedure are as follows Chemical.
  2. The bottom surface of the excavation, made for column pit trenches and basements, shall be treated with one of these chemicals at the rate of 5 liters/sq.m.
  3. Back-filled earth shall be treated at the rate of 7.5 liters linear meter per 30cm depth of the foundation.
  4. After the earth filling is complete, the plinth area is treated with the chemical emulsion at the rate of 5 liters sq.m.
  5. Finally, the earth around the external periphery of the building up to a depth of 30cm shall be treated at the rate of 7.5 liters running meter of the plinth wall.
  6. The most affected portion of the building, i.e below the footing, plinth filling, filling outside the plinth area, and below the walls should be treated for termite-proofing.
  7. To facilitate this treatment, solid M.S. rods should be driven into the soil, as close as possible to the plinth wall, at an inter 30cm and then moved backward and forward, parallel to the wall, for loosening the soil; so that the chemical emulsion mixes well with the soil.

TERMITE PROOFING TREATMENT IN SUPERSTRUCTURE

Termite proofing treatment work procedure is for dry wood termite and wood borers. All woodwork shall be treated before installation with anti-termites. It is an oil-based compound containing termite and wood preservatives. The woodwork shall be sprayed or brushed so that the chemical solution penetrates the surface of the woodwork.

POST-CONSTRUCTION ANTI-TERMITE TREATMENT

  1. Termite proofing treatment work procedure eradicates the termite infestation and makes the structure resistant to termite attacks. The holes shall be drilled at a downward angle.
  2. Of about 45 degrees, preferably from both sides of the plinth wall at approx. 300mm intervals and emulsion squirted through these holes, to soak the masonry using a hand-operated pressure pump.
  3. This treatment shall also be extended to internal walls, having foundations in the soil.
  4. Holes shall also be drilled at critical and where door and window frames embedded in the masonry or floor at the ground.
  5. Emulsion shall be squirted through the holes till refusal or to a maximum of the 1-liter hole.
  6. The treated holes shall then be sealed.
  7. Along the external perimeter of the building. holes are made with a drill machine at about 45cm (18") distance.
  8. This area is then treated with chemicals, to prevent the termite from entering from outside.
